In the weekend, I cooked new recipes special Grouper omelette and clear ginger & leaks Grouper Soup - perfect pair for me. I'm not feeling well. Dunno if it's one of those flu virus strains that hit me. But this food combo made me feel better specially the ginger soup.

Somehow, it eased my depression... financially drained...emotionally at the bottom...physically unfit. What else could I ask for. but YES! I only trust in the Lord...I offer it all up to Him...hope all goes well this week.

at the dinner table...last night

After a day's work in the office, I braved the traffic to drive home early to cook dinner for the kids. I made something extraordinary with a regular mainstay in our menu - "menudo"

With tender pork meat cubes and pork liver cubes, marinated, simmered and sauteed with garlic and onions. I added my favorites: Reno liver spread, Del Monte tomato sauce and Nestle All Purpose Cream. For a healthier, colorful and appetising dish I put in marble potatoes, carrots, sweet green peppers and my very own combination of spices to perk up all the flavors in the dish...whaaala...a dish my kids loved and enjoyed.

St. Therese, Little Flower

St. Therese had always been a big part of my adult life...she's an inspiration...a friend...a grace truly from God. I want to share this novena to those who deeply need her intercession:

St. Therese, make my troubles your own, speak a word for me to our Lady Immaculate. Beg her as Queen of the Heart of Jesus to obtain for me, by her powerful intercession, the grace I yearn for so ardently and beg her to join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life and defend me at the hour of death and lead me to a happy eternity. Amen.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus who has merited the Title of Patroness of the Missions, we beseech you, according to your promise, to let fall your shower of rose by doing good on earth.

Most Blessed Trinity, I thank you for all the favors and all the graces bestowed on your servant Therese of the Child Jesus, during the 24 years of her life. Through the merits of St. Therese, grant me the grace I yearn for so ardently, if it is according to you Most Holy Will and the benefit of my soul.

Saint (Padre) Pio Chapel in Eastwood, Libis, Q.C.

I never imagined that beside one of the busiest and noisiest “gimmick” and work place in Quezon City (Eastwood) is a place so solemn, pure and uplifting for myself… for my soul. I discovered my haven of solace in the Chapel dedicated to Saint (Padre) Pio of Pietrelcina.

I had a terrible Monday. Problems came in all together in the morning until mid afternoon, from: work deliverables, superiors, finances/debts, on kids’ needs, etc.

It just occured to me to pass by Eastwood, pay my credit card bills, buy things for the kids in the bookstore and pass by the Chapel that catches my attention everytime I pass by the area.

I felt so different, I cried...like a child who was lost in a market place and finally found her mother. I cried while praying St. Pio's prayer to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. After praying so hard, I felt ecstatic but I cried even while driving. Thank God I reached home safe and fast.

I would like to share this prayer to you, St. Pio prayed this everyday...I will make this as part of my daily prayer. By the way, the saint I was named after has a special dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
